To Great Endings & New Beginnings

Celebrating a couple of significant milestones during 2012, challenged me to reach outside of my comfort zone, finding out what I could do and having a lot of fun doing it. Contemplating the arrival of 2013 and wrapping up this memorable year that was truly above and beyond imagination, got me thinking about discoveries along the way.

12 Things Learned in 2012

• When you don’t know how to do something, leave it to the experts. It will cost you less in the long run. (P.S. Politicians are not experts – Mostly they continue to increase costs.)
• Technology is definitely moving faster than I can keep pace with it. Life appears to be moving faster, increasing the need to be more mindful of the “Present” and not miss those special moments.
• Never let go of your dreams and goals. They may not happen when and how you expect, but when you’re alert they may appear in ways not thought of.
• If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. We all need people, we all need connection.
• Stepping outside of my comfort zone has opened up a world of possibilities and brought some incredible people and experiences into my life.
• People and opportunities come into our lives at just the right time. Pay attention to take advantage during those times.
• Life is much better connected with the people who surround us. Every person whose path we cross makes a difference, if and when we allow it to.
• Re-examine tightly held beliefs and opinions. Sometimes they stop us from experiencing life fully.
• To create change, you may need to travel against the prevailing winds but the ability and power to do so is available.
• I need to be as gentle with myself as I am with others.
• Our children are the first blessing. The blessing multiplies exponentially with grandchildren.
• Change starts with me. (After all I did survive the end of the world in 2012.)

Things I desire and believe for my family, my friends and my community:

• Dreams – They empower.
• Health – Without it options are limited.
• Joy – The ability to fully rejoice in each and every moment.
• Peace – The kind that passes all understanding and provides an anchor and foundation.
• Love – There is no greater power in the Universe than a love that is unshakeable and unconditional.

2013 is no longer on the doorstep. It has arrived. Make it be above and beyond all that you can imagine.

“We all have our own life to pursue, our own kind dream to be weaving. And we all have some power to make wishes come true, as long as we keep believing.” Louise May Alcott
